Sunday with Jenny at SSO Classics in the Park

Woke up at around 2.30pm to a lovely weather. I called it good weather here when is cloudy and windy. We went to Velocity at Novena Square for a one for one dairy free juice from Boost Juice Bar.

I ordered the Mango Tango Crush which has mango, passion fruit, mango nectar, tropical juice, sorbet and ice. While Jenny ordered Pink Guava Berry Crush which has pink guava, raspberry, tropical juice, sorbet and ice. We are learning how to name our drinks and food we eat recently.

After our drinks, we then bought dim sum from Kopitiam at Velocity. We bought a prawn chee chiong fun, Crystal Dumpling and Siew Mai.

After our heavy late lunch which is around 15.48hrs. we then walked towards botanic gardens from Velocity which we then found out that the distance is too far for Jenny and me to walk there now. After walking half way, we decided to take the bus.

We alighted from the bus at the North Gate, where is nearer to Botanic Gardens Circle Line station. Upon arrival, we can see a huge crowd in front of a huge black metal gate. We decided to scout nearby for some dessert or a coffee before we go for the concert.

Just a few minutes walk from the gate, we found Island Creamery nearby and had our dessert fix there. I ordered homemade apple pie with cookies and cream ice cream, surprisingly the guy gave me an extra scoop which made my day.

After our satisfying dessert, we head towards Singapore Botanic gardens and headed towards Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage. It is like a floating stage with pond surrounding it. While we were walking towards the stage, there is a huge crowd walking towards the same direction too. Most of them are families with children. Despite the cloudy and windy weather, we both did sweat a bit while walking towards the stage.

Upon arrival, which was around 15 minutes early, there was already a huge crowd sitting on the grass with picnic mat sprawled all over the place. Without any hesitation, we quickly walked through the crowded and find a green spot for both of us. After settling down, we found all our neighbours brought food and drinks for the concert. i.e. pizza, scampi, sandwich and crisp for the classics

The concert started sharp at 6pm, with an emcee from the back of the crowd introducing the conductor Joshua Tan and also SSO to us. We also have Rina Singam joining us that evening singing some old tunes from The Sound of Music Over the rainbow.

I was lying on the grass next the Jenny with my eyes closed enjoying throughout the concert. It is rather serenading and relaxing.

The concert ended around 7pm, we then headed Dhoby Ghaut for a quick meal at Nam Nam.

She ordered dry sauteed lemongrass pork noodles, while I ordered chicken pho with rice flour noodles. I think they served both pho to us in less than 5 minutes. I haven't got time to get all the utensils yet. We also ordered a side caramelised crispy chicken wing.
At Nam Nam with Jenny
The Chicken Pho I had was not too bad, it comes in a big bowl, with tender sliced chicken breast and a separate bowl of soup with chicken's liver. I would suggest the portion is larger than wrap & roll. Jenny's Dry Sauteed Lemongrass Pork Noodle seems to be value for money. They even had a popiah comes with it. The Caramelised crispy chicken wing we find it to be too bland to our likings. The meal cost around $26, although I would say the food is reasonable for that price, I would say the good company really did make up for it. #Feeling Grateful

After our meal, I parted with Jenny and headed towards the city for work.
