Success journal 709: Long weekend with mother-in-law in Desaru Coast hard rock

After last Friday night 3-hour session in GESS, connecting with old friends through badminton and all the catch-up. Shannon and Chai Ann. I had to wake up at 0630hrs Saturday morning as we were going to Desaru.

The trip was rather pleasant; door-to-door is about 4 hours. I set up a rig for Jayden to vlog and record his video.

Reached Desarh around 1130hrs in the morning, and the room was already ready. The room air-cond was fantastic, and we immediately dropped all our things and went for a buffet lunch.

The spread wasn't amazing but was very affordable as seniors got half-price and kids ate free.

After our fulfilling lunch, I brought the kids to the playground and back to the room. At the same time, Jenny walked with her mum around the hotel.

We took a short nap, and we took a taxi to ostrich farm to check out some ostrich and have a few drinks there; we also went to the nearest city called, Sungai Rengit and checked out Petronas refinery complex, then we travelled back to Hotel. The transport cost me rm150. We then went to chill in their pool. They got music in the pool, and the vibe is relaxing.

After our pool session, we took a buggy to Westin for dinner. However, the restaurants were all fully booked.

We took a shuttle bus back to Hard Rock and had dinner by the poolside. Mexican cuisine. End of our Day 1

Sunday Morning, we woke up around 0930hrs and rushed to the breakfast area. The queue was horrible. Luckily Jenny found a way in, and we skipped the queue. The breakfast was not too bad, the vibe was perfect, and their drinks selection was top-notch.

A clown also makes balloons for kids, and a football field nearby. Love the vibes there.

Right after our breakfast, we packed our things and went to the water park together with Jayden and Jenny. Jacob went back hotel room to rest with my mother-in-law.

The water park is beyond my expectation, apart from the safety procedure, which is always my concern. Some of their parts are rusting off, and maintenance seems like an issue. These are tell-tale signs of an accident-prone park. We had fun in the water park, ask they got a mini roller coaster and a giant slide. The cost is about rm150 per pax.

We brought Jacob out halfway, and he didn't like it as much. We spend a few hours in the water park.

After our water park session, we took a short nap and took a taxi to the city for shopping. Jenny bought some chairs while I got some patches for myself. We then take a taxi to Lotus seafood restaurant for dinner. The vibe there is family-friendly, and the meal is relatively affordable. The restaurant is by the beach, and they got a green field for kids to play with bubbles and stuff. Great experience.

We called it a day and went back home to rest. End of Day 2

Day 3
Jacob fell off the bed around 4 am; luckily, he was ok. We continued our sleep and woke up for breakfast. After breakfast, we did a 2v2 football session, and Jayden did well in his tackle.

Took a shower and took our transport back to Singapore. We reach Singapore around 1330hrs.
