Ma te ma tik ~(Maths)

Maths in malay is harder than in other languages~ before we start to do any math here, I want you guys to understand how numbers are pronounced in malay.

One= Sa tu
Two= Du a
Three= Ti ga
.
.
Ten= Se pu luh

Pronouncing the number 10 in malay would take you extra 3 times more compare to English. Imagine the malay kids to learn math when they are young, they need to work three times harder than other kids to archieve the same result.
For example “1+1”
In malay
“Sa tu” “tam bah” “Sa tu” would take you a 2 second of short term memory.
In English
“One plus One” would take you a merely 1 seconds of short term memory.

Imagine when we do a series of math in malay. We would need to take up a lot of memory before the math is actually being counted.

  2. Until they can actually pronounce it, they would have actually forget what they really need to do at the start!
