Stranger I am

Note:You have to watch The Curious case of Benjamin Button, to understand this post.
Daisy Fuller: I am Daisy. Do you still remember me ?
Benjamin Button: I am Benjamin.
(when the old Daisy Fuller found Benjamin Button when he is 5 years old.)

Although they became strangers, It was the love of their lifetime.

****

Miss D is calling me a stranger.
Sending me a clear message, just like what Daisy did to Benjamin in New York & Paris.
No matter how, Loving a stranger is an amazing experience,
Where I could not expect what to come next.
and got nothing to lose.

Isn't Love great? To bond 2 strangers together.

Love always,
Jason/Stranger

Moment of a lifetime

While we are walking around Colosseum, heading towards the ticket counter.

Ken: Ui, your mom oh. (Simply point to a group of Malaysian look alike)

Jason: Don't play ler. (Ignoring ken)

Ken: Neh, the one in the orange colour shirt.(Jokingly)

After a second look, the lady in the orange shirt is my Mom..I walk towards her and gave her a big hug. We were speechless that moment, We wasn't ready. We didn't talk much, took a picture and continue our own tour in Rome.
My stylish mom in Rome..

P.S. I love you, mom.

Delicioustaly

Milano
City of fashion, where citizen dress like a model, cat walking all over the city, showing off the brand oin their skin. Sexually attracting each other. This is Milano, a place i spent one night in. Enjoying myself immensely in a busy city with elegantly beautiful people, superbly well dressed.
Gelatoing, A friendly Italian serving us. Sweet :)

Red Beer in Mala Strana Rosa, I would say the beer was aromatically up for it.

Venice

Dining in Venice is a luxurious experience, the extravaganza ambiance Venetians created, Sea breeze constantly blowing onto our skin, refractions of the water on the buildings and laughter all over the city. No price would have taken away the surreal beauty of the moment.

Wine@ Al-Timon (highly recommended for Asian)

Meal of the day, It's a cold dish with 3 different types of fish, The white creamy stuff is a kind of cheese grind with fish. Simply irresistable.

Bellini, Venice local Beer,

Napoli
Origin of Mozarella.

Margherita in Da michele, Naples.
Fresh & Basic
The shop serves the best 19th century pizza, which exceeds in its simplicity

Pompeii

Humongous Lemon in Pompeii.
Just like the fat and juicy Bean Sprout in Ipoh.

Cheesy Meal in Hotel Room

Local Beer, Exceptionally Light & Refreshing

Italian Version of Mister Potato

Bubbling Hot Smoking pizza.

Rome

Mixed Vege rice Pasta in Rome

500g of Gelato, Pistachio is my all time favourite. Sold according to weight. So you can choose any flavour from their Gelato display cabinet. Amazing isn't it. :)

Cannolo Sicilliano, from Dagnino. A well known Restaurant in Rome.
Uberly expensive.

Italian Beer,

Italian Lager

Tasteless Waffle,

Duff.
Enjoy
I would like to dedicate this post to our food trip advisor. Serene Yeoh.

Most Valuable Gadget

It's a Oral B toothbrush, which is an essential item to me now. I would encourage you guys to get this toothbrush before you consider an iPhone, a Mac book, Xbox or a PlayStation.
I have long been a fan of manual brushing as i felt it cleaned better. After using this brush for a while, not only are my teeth whiter but I feel much more cleaner. And the money i spend to descale and polish every 6 months in Malaysia is definitely more expensive than this product.

:)

Grandma

It's about my grandma, Ever since my Grandfather past away, she had stroke 5 to 6 years ago, which left her paralysed and my grandma couldn't speaks no more. she had been sleeping for more than 5 to 6 years, living in a subconscious state. But she is she is still alive, breathing and eating through a tube in a hole in her throat, while her soul is perfectly awake, she is imprisoned inside a limp husk, perhaps able to blink, or cluck a tongue, like something from a science-fiction movie, the lady frozen inside her own flesh.

She is currently in Johor, where none of her close family is nearby. except my youngest aunt who is working in Singapore and travel back and forth every week. To keep her accompanied.

I visit my grandma once a year probably less than that. She is the best story teller that I have ever met. The way she tells the stories of her past, It's better than any documentary video available on TV. She is a good cook too. I remember she even carried me on her bicycle to a nearby market in Ipoh, and secretly buy me a keropok. Which i will finished it before we reach home.

Even though I rarely speak to her, but she is the best grandma on earth.

Perhaps she doesn't scare death any more, as death becomes a 'Halt' button for her misery.
Stay strong grandma, like you used to be.

Calm Before the storm

It's been a calm week, no intense feelings, and had good sleeps.
With 3000mg of paracetamol as painkiller, half a tube of shuttlecocks as worries, and half a pint of Beer as companions.
Brick walls are there to stop people who don't want it badly enough

Where is my class?

This is 6th week of my semester, I still dunno where or when my class is, been skipping most of the lectures.
I don't really care about the lecture as much as i used to. Why? I dunno why, maybe because i am disappointed with my result(a mere 2:1)last semester. So now i boycott the lectures.
Just like eating, when you know how to eat with your own hand, you don't want others to spoon feed you anymore. Its boring & ridiculous, especially when the guy is feeding something you dunno into your mouth.
But of course, I doesn't skip my lectures for no reason. I am doing some research on Master degree lately.
Why Master?
Incompetent, lazy, inexperience and the market is in a turmoil.
Although i think a master could not bring me to a vantage ground here in UK, but at least in Malaysia. I suppose.
But anyway, practising engineering in Malaysia is my last options, i think because of the ethics and working culture there. They are not practising the correct altitude, most of the engineers want to become contractor. Especially those in East Malaysia as they are mostly underpay there; But of course, i still met some nice engineers in a consultant office in Sabah, they help me in my dissertation and educate me patiently.

I miss her,

I miss her smile, i still remember how she smiled to me in KKIA back in 2000. The smile which took my breath away.
Until now, I am still addicted to her charming angelic smile which could light up our KLCC.
My valentine's card didn't reach, expected but still disappointed.

Stay strong
Keep this love going.

Understanding the Venusian Language

  1. Fine: this is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up
  2. Five minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour, five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house
  3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm,
  4. Go ahead: This is a dare, Not a permission, don't ever think of doing it.
  5. That is ok: It is a dangerous statements a venusian can make to a martian, you will have to pay for you mistake.
  6. Thanks: just say you are welcome. don't ask
  7. Whatever: Is a women's way of saying F**K YOU!
  8. Do i look pretty in this? : She wants some positive comment, a constructive comment would be much better.

Chap goh meh, had dinner with chai ann & ting ting.
sorry for the overly FISHSAUCED chicken i marinated. poor ann & ting, to be my experimental subject. haha.. they are the best food critics i could get, Although sometimes its abit harsh but anyway, thanks for eating.haha!
I dunno when, i have lost my talent in cooking. Probably because dorothy is pretty good in cooking(ex-housemate in Semenyih will know it quite well), to compensate my talent in cooking and to match up with her cooking, i picked up dishwashing instead, so washing up is my forte now. :)
I miss baking pizza, i miss the time while i am the cook of the day, and cheered people up with my fulfilling pizza, which the crust could hardly hold the heavily loaded topppings.
hahahha.
But too bad, here in nottingham.. we could get a pizza in less than £2, its the easiest food we could get.
should have learnt roti canai or kap piang!

browsing for travel deals lately, planning for a summer trip, places in Europe are just too romantic to travel without a her, will save those romantic places(Paris, Switzerland,) next time... (If i could :) )

My final year project consist of 8 people.
One of my group mate, has been diagnosed with Cancer.
I could understand why he is ignoring this Group project.
when u are nearly dead, u know what is important to you the most!
I am sure the group project is way down the list.

IF I am dying pretty soon,

will i still continue my Group project?
will i still believe in love?
will i still make friends?
will i still play badminton?

I couldn't tell.

I wonder how an illness/aging could change someone's life that were used to be flawless.

Serene farewell!

She is half Malaysian and Half Thai, grew up in Johor, studied in Singapore, citizen of Australia, and on an exchange scheme in Nottingham. Being nationally diversified, she is Serene.
We had things in common, badminton, food, travel, language and she actually looks like Chai Ann.
Birds of a feather flock together.

Went to fie's pent house for a quick dinners, boost and have fun for the whole night!
I was drunk at the beginning of the boosting session, and end up sleeping the rest of the night.
After that we send her off in Broad marsh Bus-station.

Hmm, we had a typical farewell drama in the bus-station, it all started with Ken.

Ken, called serene while she is just inside the bus

Shea yung was constantly worried about which terminal the bus will stops and the amount of luggage that she brought for check-in luggage  (50++kg).
Chai Ann, sending off her identical twins, seems to be confused. But i think she experienced this before in US.
Fie, sending her off as well, although they were just newly met.
me, holding my camera taking pictures for remembrance! :)

Had Group Project discussion today,
Our title is about Whitewater Kayak!
Don't like it at 1st, but after seeing our helpful lecturer, i think i am much more relieved!Perhaps is because of the 2 new group mates that joined us today, Jack & Con. They seems to be approachable and they are Greeks!

Went for Business module today, econometrics(stats in a very business way)
Its my 1st day studying in jubilee campus, which is modern & artistic. Compare to our grumpy engineering building (60-70 years old i think), Its like Mona Lisa vs Avril Lavinge

Met Sarah and a friend from Malaysia on our way to a massive lecture theatre. Didn't talked much with them, as we were late for class.
I didn't expect to have so many people in the room.of course, there were much more blonds in the class than girls in our class room! hahaha.. :)
Good reasons to stay awake.

Went to jubilee campus for badminton social night out. Crowded, but did manage to play a few rounds of games!
Of course, i filled up my waiting time on the other side of the sport centre. Cheerleaders. They were doing some moves. toe-touch jump, pike jump & Etc. They are mostly Blond,

Walked back home with a newly met friend in hopper bus, Brian.

Alcoholic

When? -I am addicted to alcohols. Beer becomes not as bitter as i remember.
Yesterday in the middle of the class, i have a sudden urge for beer and I skipped the rest of the lectures(introductory lectures) for beers!
Went for a drink with Ken, SY, Serene, Chai Ann in their hall,
had Serene's thick Curry, Grilled prawns, SY home-made spaghetti and of course packets of beers. what a night.

SY and I had sofa talk till dawn, those heart to heart talk with someone from the same 'kampung' is just different. The accent that we shared, bring those memories back to me. Of course, 'Gong Lin Hwa' is the main essence of our conversation.

Registered a Business Module today, wanted to study in somewhere different, away from my old engineering building. And to meet up different group of people. :)
can't wait for the 1st lecture tomorrow.

Went for badminton today, Bernard & I had a match with the Uni team (which i have been looking forward to for ages), I invited them for a friendly game, but i end up disappointed as they were bloody cocky! And they showed me those 'who the hell are you to play with us' faces from the beginning of the game! Although they played with us, they didn' show any friendly gesture for the entire game.
Despite being looked down, we eventually won the 'unfriendly' match. 21-19.

slept 13 hours, after a day hangover from those intense party, and a short 2 hours module introduction lecture. I look like an undead on the 1st day of Chinese New Year, literally soulless.

I miss my family, Especially during this period. As we would travel around, and strenghten our bond together. This year, we were all scattered around, Mom & Dad in Jeju Island, while my brother is in Brisbane.

I received a wonderful cny greetings from kok tien(a charming guy indeed). Although his card is virtually dodgy, i could physically feel the CNY greetings he sent from 6k miles away.

I receive a tq message from fie this morning,
I noticed that i had a wonderful evening after i woke up today. Probably i am just feeling abit down & tired that night.

Financially Challenged

OVERBUDGET
Being incredibly stupid, i end up buying £200 worthed of alcoholic drinks and 7kgs of shrimps (which could normally feed up to 60 aldults) for a party of 20. The food & drink are amazingly massive. I don't remember if someone have ever spoilt a party like how i did, bought a massive amount of food, and charged on the guest.
Probably I am the 1st,
Luckily Ken, Eefie & Shea Yung bail me out from all this mess.
Never again.

Slept in serene & chai ann's flat for the past 2 days. Been steam boating for the past 2 consecutive days, i enjoy every part of it!
As usual, my relationship has been put on a test, just like my exam lately, where the examiners set the rules & regulations. A typical Long Distance Relationship's Drama happened, which the scripts are instantaneous and not pleasant at all.

Scarlet (from china studying Phd) came to our house today had some tea before we leave together to a church meeting tonight, I enjoyed the meeting to bits of pieces. Sad to hear that Allen's family is going back Taiwan this coming 11th. Although allen once entered my room during his 1st visit to my house without actually asking my permission. I would still think him as a kind, and sweet and loving brother to have in church. As brother Allen has offered everything he possibly could to church, he got that strong passion for loving people.

Piin( my cousin), bake a chicken pie for the gathering tonight. I think i  helped him out, I prepared the potato, while he prepares the fillings for the pie. He seems to be discreetly annoyed, when the saints praised the potatoes instead of the fillings. I am damn evil and cheap. Although i am notoriously happy but I tried to be nice and insisted my cousin to take all the credits. After the dinner, he shared things that i could hardly encounters here, maybe not in the next 10 years. Probably a talk with my cute and naive cousin would be very helpful for me.
FYI, he is getting citizenship next year. and continues his 3rd master program.

Planned to continue my 'day' with Edith and her bunch of friend for a  karaoke session, but with my sore throat after the 2 consecutive nights of staying out. I called her, to tell her i am not feeling well. She is extremely pleasant during the conversation on the phone which didn't lasted for more than 30 seconds. Probably i

Will be going for a CNY eve house party tomorrow.

I am tired, good night.

Friday, January 23, 2009

Post exam

Woke up with a my head being numb, probably this is the usual phenomena. Hangover.

i get drunk and slept on a comfortable sofas in Serene's apartment last night.
Although they (shea yung, chai ann and serene) chatted loudly next to me, I felt extremly tired.
I think they even recorded my 'symphony orchestra' while i am sleeping. But i think they should be glad that i fell asleep. As I would simply throw things at people while i get drunk.
If i am not mistaken, before i fell asleep. I threw a 1kg cabbage at ken which fails to wake him up. Probably he is drunker than I am.
We called off our Manchester trip on this Saturday.

I am going for a 2 hours badminton session.
By the way, I am rude to people this few days, especially strangers, i wonder why.

Work from Home

I met Tristan Soh in Shea Yung's birthday party that day, I was inspired by him when he told us about his working experience in UK during his term time. Whenever he is not clubbing, he will be working from 5 to 11. I felt guilty instantly and i made up my mind, to secure the part time job, which i once hesitate to apply, in order to cover tiny bits of my living expenses here. I worked for an accounting firm in Cyprus and help them to compile their client's portfolio in UK and send it over to them. I am like a bridge, linking the client and the accountant here.
According to my employer, the job would only take up to 2 hours per day, which i think it is reasonable and won't affect my studies.

I am blogging constantly lately, because i will be sitting for some essay writing paper this coming Wednesday. So blogging has become a wonderful tools to improve my grammatical conjunction here. In a nutshell, 'Chotting'

Frustrated!

Can't get a proper sleep lately, something is just bothering me in the back of my mind. Not because of my studies of course, although i didn't do well in my pavement module.
I have been self evaluating myself lately, when a martian meets problems, he would pull away to his cave, stay alone and think for solutions. Which is exactly what i did for the last 2 days, stayed in my room, and think for solutions.
Back to what is bothering me lately. I started to project this traits since i was young, i used to bite people i met. My parents even consulted by teacher, principles and even some victim's parent. Besides, i am very arrogant, selfish and boastful; Is my family hard work that suppressed all the negatives element in me to the minimal and I use the word suppressed here is because i still believe that these negative elements within me would surfaces easily.
I will describe more about it below, E.g:
As a Chinese, whenever i wanted speak English, i would 1st think the phrase in Chinese and translate it into English; And whenever i am confronted with matters, I would 1st think in a very negative way, then only i translate this negative thinking into a positive 1. Filter it before i actually project it out of me. That is why i feel fake sometimes, and tries to show some of my evil part (which i mean being hurtful), instead of being nice all the time.

:)

Love Machine.

How this machine works?

This machine is strategically located in a men's toilet, as this will gives the buyer all the privacy they need to choose a suitable 1.
Of course, this machine doesn't just sell condom only, it sells:
-Chewing gum
a fresh mouth for a good start,
-Blue pills
to impress partner with nothing less than usual
-Vibrator
to satisfy partner with less effort.
Probably this is all about the love machine.

P/S: Love isn't cheap.

Cash Cow@UK

After being robbed last month, I am so happy to see police wondering around my residential area lately, I feel so safe and protected.
But of course, we know that there's NO free lunch in this world.

This morning, while i am taking my bicycle off my house to library, just before i reach the main road, i was greeted by a policeman with his wonderful smile, and a positive hand gesture. In fact, by the time i approached with quite some speed i could get from my bicycle he blocked my road path and push me hard to stop me from going any further, without a word he started to collect my details & write on his booklet.
I was abit confused, as i don't remember people would get a speed ticket on a bicycle and i don't even have a chance to ask what is he up to until i get the ticket which clearly state my offence on it.

Which was cycling on a public footing!

This is how I am being Milked.

Paper #1

Technically I have just finished my 1st paper, and there are 3 more papers to come during this period of  10 days but instead of keep on studying; i granted myself a day out with Chai Ann, Ting Ting & Serene. We went shopping, domino-ing, iceland-ing and finally a leisure walk in the rain which I (as a typical cancerian) personally relish the walk the most, as the weather is just nice, drizzling and not too cold. After all the indulgence, its time for me to get back to reality again.

I couldn't study properly while my 23 inch wide screen is sitting in front, so i decided to ditch my wide screen at home to stay far away from the temptation; but end up in front of a larger screen in the library.
screen@home,

Bigger screen@ library

The library is massively crowded with notoriously noisy blonds and the thing which i don't understand is why they could wear incredibly less clothes to the library even during winter. Perhaps their purposes going to the library is to pull down the average of the university by showing off their greatest assets of all, which i admit, they did considerably a good job at it!

In a Nutshell, I am easily distracted.

Robin's Land

Not in Nottingham, where Robin Hood originated from.

While I am heading towards George green library in a foggy morning, i spotted something quite unusual to me.
Which is a motorbike parked in a bicycle stand, and there is actually a big chain on its wheel locked to the rail as well.
As Nottingham has been infested by Robin Hood in a very large scale, its just not safe to let your assets wondering around anymore, even in my Uni campus.
For those who are currently in Nottingham, I highly recommend you to invest in your theft insurance to buy a good night sleep in Robin hood's land!
